Welcome to the Wang Group in the Department of Chemistry at the Temple University.  The overall goal of our lab is to integrate chemical and biological approaches such as organic synthesis, biological chemistry, protein engineering, and molecular imaging to understand, detect, and treat human diseases.  Interested students can focus on one area (e.g., training tracks of either chemical synthesis or biochem/biomed), or multiple areas.  See more research description here...

09/2021 - The lab has received a P30 pilot grant from NIDA and Temple Univ Center for Substance Abuse, which will allow us to exploit
                  the FTDR chemical labeling approach to study the toxicity mechanism of abused pain relievers such as Tylenol and Opioids.

05/2021 - The lab has participated in the virtual 13th Annual Frontiers in Chemistry and Biology Interface Symposium (FCBIS) hosted by
                  University of Maryland, with multiple group members (Rob, Shuyue, Yue) presenting their research.  Zhigang was also invited 
                  to orally present our invention of the FTDR chemical reaction for profiling cellular acetylation.

10/2019 - Ross's Scialog team proposal with Alison Ondrus (Caltech) and Abhishek Singharoy (ASU) has been selected for funding by  
                  the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation.  It was a great conference at Scialog, and we look forward to exploring some cool 
                  mechanochemical probes to study the force of life.
